Images uploaded in the backend of the “Photos” app can be easily embedded in the frontends of other Webasyst apps; e.g., Shop-Script 5, Blog, or Site. To embed images, use the “Link / Embed” element in the right sidebar of the Photos backend:
“Link / Embed” element is available in section “Photostream”, in album-viewing pages, and when you filter images by tags.
If you need to publish/embed only a part of the currently visible image list, select the desired images by ticking checkboxes next to their names.
A click on “Link / Embed” opens a dialog with several embedding options:
- Link: URL of a separate Photos frontend page containing only selected images. This option may be useful if you are planning to add <FRAME> or <IRAME> to other frontends or websites.
- HTML: portion of static HTML code which you can embed in any web pages including those not powered by Webasyst or other CMSs.
- Smarty: portion of Smarty code dynamically generating an image list; this option will work only for frontends of Webasyst apps because they support Smarty tags and Webasyst variables and methods.
- Image URLs: plain list of image URLs which can use in any desired fashion.
The easiest way to embed images in frontends of other Webasyst apps is to use options “HTML” and “Smarty”: simply copy the entire code in the appropriate text field and paste it in the desired page or template source. In Shop-Script 5, Blog, and Site you can do it by means of the built-in design editor.
