Shop-Script allows online merchants to enable USPS real-time shipping quotes in their stores as described in this article.
1. Signup for a USPS account
Sign up for a USPS WebTools account at https://secure.shippingapis.com/registration/. After registration you will receive an email confirmation with your ID and password.
The ID and the password can be used for testing only. All integration development and testing have already been performed by Webasyst, so simply skip the testing step. Reply to the message from USPS by indicating that you would like to go live, for instance as provided below:
“Please enable my online store for production. We are using a platform that has already tested the API.”
The USPS team (usually within 24 hours) should send you a message that your account has been confirmed for use in the production mode.
2. Setting up shipping method in Shop-Script
Install shipping plugin “USPS”. To do so, open the Installer application, navigate to section “Plugins → Shipping”, and click on the “Install” button next to the name of the “USPS” plugin.
Open “Shop” app's section “Settings → Shipping” and use the “Add shipping option” link to select the “USPS” plugin.
In the plugin settings page, enter the desire title and description as they should appear in the storefront.
Enter your USPS User ID in the provided setting field.
Complete other setting fields to your liking.
Finalize the setup by clicking on the “Save” button.
